What We Do

Whether it’s topfruit from the UK or mangoes from Peru, we aim to ripen and package the freshest fruit at the best price for our customers, in the most sustainable way.

Fruit Packing

We pack apples, pears, mangoes and exotic fruits. We use flow-wrap, poly bagging machines and provide labelling and carton packing. We’ve installed the latest technology, including robotic packing and palletising, that allows us to be scalable based on demand. What drives us, is our passion for quality and making it easier for our customers to deliver the fruit when it’s at its best to their customers.

Leaders in Quality Management

We are constantly assessing the quality of the fruit we pack. Using our AI-optical grading machine, we can grade to customers’ specifications and make sure we pack only the finest quality fruit. The machines check inside the apples for defects and remove apples with bruises and blemishes. But there’s no waste. Our fruit is repackaged and sent to wholesalers or earmarked for processing into delicious fruit juices.

Yield Optimisation

Yield is key for our growers, our business and our customers. Our growers trust us with their fruit. In return, we manage and measure quality throughout the packing process, providing regular grader data reports and recommendations on how to optimise the fruit, to make sure everyone in the chain benefits from the best quality at a competitive price. We’re consistently working with our growers to improve yield from field to deliver first-class quality to our customers. Our close links to the growers’ association Allied Growers means we share knowledge and expertise across our business that benefits our customers.

Fruit Ripening

We think we’re pretty good at the art of ripening. Why? Because in our modern ripening chambers, we already ripen over 1 million boxes of pears every year but have capacity to ripen 1.5 million boxes of fruit per year. We’ve now expanded our fruit range to include mangoes. Our experienced product managers provide customers with up-to-date reports from the fruit ripening chambers and give advice on how they can optimise their products based on data.

Temperature Controlled Storage

We have 3100 pallets on site where we can hold produce in temperature-controlled storage. We can keep produce at the optimal temperature – between 0.5 and 10 degrees Centigrade. Stores are monitored remotely, and we can flex this for our customers as the need arises to meet their requirements.
