Due to the company’s volume growth, we are looking for a Packhouse operative to join our already established team at Cottage Farms.

The purpose of this position is to assemble, sort and pack customer orders according to work instructions, packing to customers specifications. This role demands a team player, who enjoys working in a repetitive environment.

Even though previous experience is not a requirement for this role it is essential that site standards are always followed. Accuracy and attention to detail is also essential, as you will be required to check that you are packing in the correct packaging as well as labelling products ensuring the label matches the product.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

To listen and follow instructions given by senior management, Packhouse supervisors, QC or line leaders.

Check that you are packing into correct packaging.

To ensure that all visitors to the Packhouse comply with company regulations.

To comply with site standards daily.

Be prepared to help in other areas of the Packhouse.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the quality of raw/finished products, food safety, fruit quality and ensuring customer specifications are always met. You will also be required to undertake inspections and checks as per instruction to ensure that the fruit and product meet customer specifications, legislative requirement and traceability procedures. Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist QA Team in destructive tests (Brix and PSI).

Carrying out destructive tests on fruits.

Cold storage monitoring.

Communicate any quality issues with Senior Management.
